Frequently asked questions
What is an error fare?
An error fare is a flight ticket priced far below the route's normal market price, usually because of a temporary mistake in an airline's pricing system or a glitch in the distribution feed. Error fares typically disappear within a few hours once the airline catches them.
How does IoCarta find error fares?
We continuously poll airline-pricing feeds for hundreds of routes across Europe, store every observation in a 60-day price-history database, and flag any flight that drops at least 65% below its rolling-median price. Every alert is re-verified before delivery.
Is IoCarta free to use?
Yes. Browsing deals on iocarta.com is free, and email alerts for one home airport are free forever. We earn a commission when you book through a partner link, at no extra cost to you.
What is included in the Pro plan?
Pro adds up to five home airports, priority alerts (sent first), and cabin-class filters (business and premium). It is billed monthly at €4 with a one-click cancel.
How do I receive deal alerts?
Alerts are sent by email. We rate-limit to a maximum of three alerts per day per subscriber and never send the same deal twice. A weekly digest with the top deals is also included.
Can I cancel my membership anytime?
Yes. Free alerts can be turned off via the one-click unsubscribe link in any email. Pro plans (when launched) will be cancellable from the account page at any time with no exit fee.
Which airports does IoCarta cover?
We currently track 8 major European origin hubs: Brussels (BRU), Amsterdam (AMS), Paris (CDG), London (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Madrid (MAD), Barcelona (BCN), and Rome (FCO). They connect to 200+ destinations worldwide. More hubs are added based on subscriber demand.
How often are deals updated?
A full route-matrix discovery scrape runs every 6 hours. On top of that, every active deal is re-verified against current prices every 10 minutes. If a fare is no longer bookable or the price has spiked, the deal is removed automatically.
